Departing Residents

Knox Hills team members are always sad to see one of our Residents leave, but we realize that location changes are a way of life for the great men and women who serve our Country.

As you depart, we would like to take this opportunity to thank you for choosing Knox Hills as your residence of choice while stationed at Fort Knox.  We wish you and your family much success and happiness wherever life takes you next. 

The step-by-step information below is designed to help make your transition from Knox Hills easy.  Please take the time to look over the information carefully and call or e-mail if you have any questions. 

  • To clear housing, you will need to go to your Community Office and fill out a Termination Notice, submitting any necessary documentation, such as PCS orders, EAS/Retirement orders, etc. 30 days prior to leaving.
  • A Community Team Member will set up the following inspection appointments:
    • Pre-Termination Inspection - a Team Member will individually assess your home and your cleaning/clearing procedures.
    • Final Inspection - during this inspection you will turn in your keys and clear housing.
